Lincoln and Continental owners get in on Cruise fun

The usual hot rods and street rods will be on hand, for certain.

But joining them at this year’s Cruisin’ Downriver — the third annual event — will be the Lincoln and Continental Owners Club. The club was founded in 1953, with the Michigan Chapter starting in 1976.

Unlike some other car clubs, membership in the LCOC does not require the ownership of a car. What matters is that you are interested in Lincolns and in their restoration.

"Our club is a great resource for anyone interested in Lincolns," said John Pratt, Michigan Region director of the LCOC.

"We can help people find a car, restore a car, find parts for a car. We can even help people sell a car."

The LCOC will be at Southgate Lincoln Mercury on Fort Street Saturday during the cruise. They hope to have a convertible Marauder and Lincoln Concept Car as part of their display.
